Injection molding
| In
addition to conventional press and sinter powder metallurgy
processing, Multi-Metals offers a unique way of forming carbide via
injection molding. Any carbide grade can be injection molded and parts with complex geometry and/or small section thicknesses are ideal candidates |

Cemented
tungsten carbide powder is blended with polymeric binders to
give the mixture proper flow characteristics. This feedstock
is then injection molded into tool cavities using plastic injection
molding equipment under controlled conditions. The binder from the molded parts is then removed under closely controlled conditions, leaving a porous part. This part is then sintered either in vacuum or controlled atmosphere conditions to produce parts that are fully dense. |
